Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information iswamwith ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use our website and app at iswamwith.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive or store your password for those accounts.
- Dive content you create. Dive logs, species tags, notes, photos, videos, and dive-computer (.fit) files you upload.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as browser type, device, and pages visited, used to keep the Service secure and working.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you at sign-in;
- Store, display, and let you share your dive logs, photos, and species tags;
- Let you invite buddies to a dive and let them add their own photos and sightings;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- Communicate with you about your account or important changes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. How information is shared
Your dive content is private to your account unless you choose to share it. When you share a dive or invite a buddy, the people you share with can see that dive and its associated photos and tags. Beyond that, we share information only with:
- Service providers that host our infrastructure and store your files (for example, our database and cloud object storage), acting on our instructions;
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
4. Where your data is stored
Account details and dive records are stored in a secured database. Photos, videos, thumbnails, and dive-computer files are stored in cloud object storage under a private path scoped to your user account, and are served only through short-lived, expiring links.
5. Cookies and sessions
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the login process. These are required for the Service to function; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete specific content, it is removed from active systems. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and dive content, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
7. Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, export, or delete your information at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
8. Third-party sign-in providers
Signing in through Google, Facebook, or Apple is governed by each provider's own privacy policy. We only receive the basic profile information described in Section 1, and only after you approve the sign-in.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
11. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@iswamwith.com.
